TRAINING
Milwaukee Careers Cooperative offers a number of services to job-seekers, all of which are free of charge. The intake and orientation process is held Monday through Thursday
- applications from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. and orientation beginning at 9:00 a.m. - with the opportunity to take the T.A.B.E. (Tests of Adult Basic Education) assessment following the orientation.
Additional resources and workshops are available for those who would like extra help in finding employment. The Job Search Room is open every day from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and
1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and contains the following resources:
- telephones
- telephone books
- Yellow Pages Directories
- resource books
- instructional video tapes
- job postings
- computer/laser printer
- Help Wanted ads (daily and Sunday)
Workshops are held on an as-needed basis and cover the following areas:
- filling out applications
- writing resumes
- preparing for interviews
- career assessment and exploration
- any topic needed by job-seekers
A special workshop, “The First Week Check-up Workshop”, has been instituted for external employees (those who are currently on assignment for Milwaukee Careers Cooperative).
The workshop is held ever other Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Its purpose is to allow employees to discuss the positives and negatives of their work assignments. Attendance at the workshop is required
after employees have been on the job for one week.
